About the Documentary

Disabled female veterans have to deal with all the issues male vets face, plus gender/role specific issues: What happens when Mom returns to kids and partners, who were used to Mom taking care of them? What's it like for single female vets returning to reestablish or create new relationships with partners while dealing with the imagery/values of a sex-object oriented culture? How do disabled women vets regain their independence, confidence, sexuality? What special challenges do women face receiving healthcare from the VA?

Our focus is on solutions. One solution that has helped the women featured in our trailer is service dogs. Other vets have found college to be a safe and supportive place to land.

We will create a network where you can share your struggles, triumphs and funny stories. The website and the making of the film can become a part of the solution. You are not alone. We support our veteran sisters and we thank you for your service. Help us support your getting the services you deserve.
